Woodstock, Georgia, if you’re not familiar with it, is located just north of Atlanta, Georgia about 35 miles straight up I-75 and then you take a little right on 575, go up about another eight miles and you’re right in Woodstock, Georgia.

Now, the crime rate is rated a B- but that’s still not too bad for a larger community itself. The great thing is the school systems are rated an A- on a national level, which we’re going to talk a little bit more about here in just a second.

5 Reasons to Live in Woodstock

#1: SHOPPING & RESTAURANTS

The number one reason is that all the amenities that you would want in a community are going to be located here. So, shopping, close to medical facilities, entertainment, close to the highway, and very easily accessible to Highway 575 and 75. So, it’s a great location to be if you want to be close to everything, all the amenities that you’d like yet also be able to jump on an interstate and be down in the city in a fairly quick order.

#2: ENTERTAINMENT

All right, the second reason why people are moving to Woodstock is entertainment. All right. So, downtown Woodstock over the last five to eight years has poured millions of dollars into the downtown area and made it an artsy and cultural magnet. So, a lot of people love going downtown Woodstock for entertainment and just being exposed to a lot of different people. Lots of restaurants have come in, they have a lot of music venues there, and Woodstock is phenomenal. So, anytime you go down to Woodstock, you’re always going to have a variety of live music options. There’s a venue called Mad Life which has gotten really popular. You can actually go see different cover bands and concerts there. And then we also have an amphitheater in Woodstock that usually hosts all kinds of entertainment throughout the summer months and just a lot of arts and culture that have actually been poured back into Woodstock, which lots and lots of people enjoy. So, the number two reason is entertainment. If you like culture, like art, you like to be around a lot of people and walk around a small town and be able to have phenomenal food and be entertained at the same time, Woodstock is a great location and a great place to be.

#3: GREAT SCHOOLS

The third reason why you should consider moving to Woodstock is because of the great schools we have. That’s rated an A minus on the national level. And hey, we also have a lot of diversity in our community. So, a lot of the schools are actually set up and specialized in different disciplines, which is actually really, really nice for folks that have any needs that they would like to have for their family or for their kids. So, the schools are really highly rated and a lot of people are specifically moving into this location, into the Woodstock area specifically for the phenomenal schools that they have.

#4: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Reason number four is the location. I mentioned earlier how convenient it is located to Interstate 575 and 75. You could commute down to downtown Atlanta in about 35 minutes, depending on the traffic, of course. Here in the Atlanta area, we have some traffic challenges. But on any given day, on a regular flow of traffic, 35, 40 minutes, you can be right downtown. Great area, bed view community if you’ve got a commute down to Atlanta. It’s also located very close to the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. You can jump on 57, head on up north for about a 15 to 20-minute drive, and you are right in the beautiful foothills of the Smoky Mountains. The Appalachian Trail actually starts in Cherokee County. So, if you like hiking and outdoors, it’s a perfect location. All right.

#5: UPBEAT & THRIVING COMMUNITY

The fifth and final reason why people are looking at Woodstock, Georgia to move into is because it is upbeat and it is a thriving community. Yes, our population is growing, and our employment base is solid and very diverse. Our income levels, the average income level here in the Woodstock area is above national averages and it is increasing. So, employment is fantastic. People love how thriving a community is. The municipality itself, the city of Woodstock continues to pour millions and millions of dollars into the development of the area itself. So, people like that. It is great, it’s new, it’s energetic, and it’s just a whole heck of a lot of fun here.
