Bennett Townsend…: So obviously reach out to local lenders that are here in Cherokee County and really getting your hands around your finances, getting pre-qualified so you have the confidence when you start to look for a home. It is one of the biggest investments you’re going to make in your life. It can be intimidating, but it isn’t as bad as everyone may say it is.

Tom Townsend: All right. Everybody tells me that they have to have 20% down before they buy a home… Is that the case?

Bennett Townsend…: Big misconception. It is ideal. You don’t have to have 20% down. The lender has plenty of programs that they can walk you through where you don’t have to have that full 20% down.

Tom Townsend: All right, so cool. So there’s a lot of options, even with 3.5% down, maybe.

Bennett Townsend…: Yeah. They can make it affordable for you.
