Meet Lorena | Georgia Housing Market

Hey, everyone. It’s Jane with Townsend Realty Group. I’m here with Lorena. She’s been in real estate for how long?

Almost 19 years, now.

So tell me a little bit about yourself before real estate.

Oh, before real estate, I was in more of the administrative office manager here in Cherokee County, Ga.

So I did that for quite a few years and just decided that I needed something a little bit different.

Yeah. Nice little change up there.

Big change.

So how did you get into real estate and kind of why you did it?

Actually, I got into real estate. I became an office manager for one of the RE/MAX real estate offices here in the Cherokee County, Ga area. And I took care of their office and their agents, and I decided to get my real estate license so I could understand the whole real estate world a little bit better. And from that, they promoted me to their director of agent services. And I just kind of decided I wanted something a little bit more than when I first did it.

Yeah.

I was like, yeah, this is really great. And I learned a lot of stuff. And so that’s how I was originally introduced to the world of real estate.

Oh, nice. So why did you pick Townsend Realty Group at Keller Williams? I know you’ve been with past teams. We don’t have to talk about them, but what made you draw towards Townsend Realty Group?

I like what the team stands for. I like the fact that they are very client-oriented. It is all about service to the client. And that’s something that I’ve believed in for many years. And knowing that that’s what their priority is, that’s what drew me to it.

Awesome. Well, so this is kind of a fun question. What is a good experience, a funny experience that you’ve had in real estate so far?

Oh gosh. Good experiences, I’ve had a lot of good experiences, a lot of great clients that I have worked with. I think funny experiences, some of the things that I see when I’m showing homes. I do a thing on my Facebook page and it’s called “Adventures in Real Estate.” And so when I see something different, unusual, really, really retro, I’ve seen some crazy, crazy stuff.

Yeah.

I like to post that because my followers on Facebook like to see some of the funny stuff. One of them was, I was showing a home, and my client was deathly afraid of spiders.

Oh no.

And there happened-

Me too, honestly. I hate spiders.

I don’t like ’em either. And as we were walking in, I looked to my right and in the bushes, there is this huge, it was gorgeous, actually, the thing was probably about this big and it was an orb weaver.

What is that?

It’s a yellow and black spider.

Oh, gosh.

And it’s huge. And the one I saw was probably about, maybe three or four inches long. I researched it and talked to some of my friends, and they said that was actually a male. The female is about five inches long And they make these webs, but they weave, it’s like a zigzag pattern right in the center of the web. It’s really pretty to look at.

Huh. Yeah.

So I saw it. I’m like, don’t let ’em see it. Don’t let ’em see it. Don’t let ’em see it.

Oh no. Yeah.

So I waited until after we showed the house and I was leaving and I was taking pictures of it. And thank goodness she didn’t see me, because she would have just-

Freaked out.

Yeah. She would have freaked out.

Oh my gosh.

So, we get to see all kinds of crazy stuff. I’ve seen birds’ nests. I’ve seen… One time I saw, it was like a chest freezer with a padlock on it.

It’s just fun stuff like that. They make for great stories and my followers on Facebook, they love the “Adventures in Real Estate,” series.

Oh my gosh. Well, make sure to follow her on Facebook. All right. Well, Loreena, I appreciate you sitting with me and getting to know me a little bit more. Hopefully, we get to see you a little bit more in the future in these videos. Again, make sure to thumbs up the video and subscribe down below. Thank you, guys.

Thanks, guys.
